Protest March POSTPONED
NB. The Protest March planned for Wednesday 13 August 2025 by the Save Our Sprat campaign is now postponed indefinitely following Irish Government measures to prevent industrial fishing by large industrial trawlers within 6 nautical miles.
While the measures announced fall short of the complete moratorium we were calling for, and we still have concerns, we believe on balance that, if implemented effectively, these measures represent a significant step in protecting sprat populations in West Cork's inshore waters.
In light of that, we feel that a protest march at this time would be inappropriate.
